In December 2009, Siemens launched a global US$ 100 million Siemens Integrity Initiative (SII) to support organizations and projects that fight corruption and fraud through collective action, education and training. The SII focuses on supporting projects that have a clear impact on the business environment, can demonstrate objective and measurable results and have the potential to be scaled up and replicated.

These projects will receive financing from the SII, and will see an initial tranche of US$40 million distributed to more than 30 initiatives from over 20 countries that have been selected. Approximately 300 non-profit organizations from 66 countries applied for funding during the first round and The International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) was successful in its bid at this stage, winning a $1.5 million grant from the Siemens Integrity Initiative (SII) to develop and deliver anti-corruption programmes in China and Russia.

During a three-year project titled 'Transforming Principles of Integrity and Transparency into Practice in Emerging Markets', IBLF will seek to bring the best international practices in corporate approaches to compliance to China and Russia.

In China, the project is managed jointly with our local partner, the School of Public Administration of the Renmin University of China, and a range of activities will be delivered through the China Business Leaders Forum(CBLF) . This includes :
- Roundtables allowing corporate executives to exchange best practices
- Leadership Forums for top business leaders from both Chinese and foreign companies
- Development of collective actions on combating corruption in specific industries
- Surveys and studies into the business case for integrity
- Website for all useful resources coming out of the roundtables and advisory group meetings as well as international materials.

The first event from CBLF under this initiative took place on 8 April 2011 in Beijing and was themed 'China's Efforts to Combat Corruption and Build a Clean Government'.

IBLF is also working on SII programme in Russia and similar business integrity programme in India. To learn more, please visit IBLF Russia (www.iblfrussia.org) and IBLF India (http://iblf.org/en/about-iblf/regions/in.aspx)
